Two ways to permanently delete your Lumen account and everything stored under it. No fee, no retention period, no dark patterns — deletion is immediate once requested.
DELETE MY ACCOUNT when asked. If Lumen says to sign in again first, sign out, sign back in and repeat these steps straight away. Deleting an account needs a recent sign-in, and nothing is removed until it goes through.
This is permanent and immediate: your sign-in is removed, every document under your account in the cloud is deleted, and everything stored on that device is wiped. There is no undo and no recovery window.
If you've lost the device, uninstalled the app, or otherwise can't sign in, email a deletion request from the address associated with your account (or state which sign-in method you used — Google, email, or "Continue on this device").
Email a deletion requestRequests are processed within 30 days, and you'll get a confirmation once it's done.

Deletion removes the account document that anchors your data in the cloud; every record under it is swept up as part of the same operation, not left behind for later.
Backups you hold yourself. If you set up backup, the encrypted backup files live in your Google Drive, not on our servers. When you delete your account the app offers to delete them too. If you decline, delete from a phone that never connected Drive, or ask for deletion by email, they stay in your Drive until you remove them: open Google Drive and delete the “Lumen Money Backups” folder. Backup files you saved or shared elsewhere are likewise yours to delete. All of these are encrypted and cannot be opened without your passphrase.
Expenses you split with other people. A shared expense belongs to everyone in it, so the other participants keep their copy.
